点评：Even though I was raised in Fairbanks and learned about Alaskan culture, nothing compares to the collection on display at this museum. In a short amount of time, I learned far more about the many Indigenous peoples who inhabited this land long before it was taken than I ever did in school.
The museum tells a long and often painful history through the voices of the people themselves, while also highlighting the celebrations, traditions, and life journeys that continue today. It offers a powerful and respectful way for outsiders to better understand these cultures and appreciate who they are and what they stand for.
Original tribal artifacts and artwork provide a meaningful glimpse into their world. There is also a dedicated children’s floor that encourages exploration and learning. As you move through the museum, the story continues—connecting Alaska’s past with its present. This is an educational, moving, and beautifully curated experience that should not be missed.
