The park made it much harder because there were not enough food vendors open, not enough staff, and not enough water refill stations. We waited anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours just to get food or refill a drink cup. In the heat, that is not just inconvenient, it is a health and safety issue. The staff seemed undertrained and unprepared. Multiple times I had to scan my wristband two to five times because employees did not seem to know how to work the register or drink system. Instead of being helpful or reasonable, many were rigid and unhelpful. Getting water or a basic drink refill should not be that difficult, especially when children are involved and people are standing in extreme heat. The worst part was when my small 7y daughter was pushed while standing in line and fell, hitting her head on the concrete. We had to rush her to First Aid, where they took her vitals and gave her an ice pack for the bloody bump on her forehead. We were there for about an hour. My kids felt unsafe and uncomfortable for the rest of the day. On top of that, several items were stolen from our stroller. The ride lines were bad, but the food and drink lines were just as bad, if not worse. The whole day felt chaotic, stressful, and poorly controlled. I regret buying a season pass. This was a waste of money and a terrible experience for my family. I would rather deal with the busiest day at Disney World than return to Six Flags Great America after this. Six Flags needs to seriously address staffing, training, water access, crowd control, and basic guest safety. This was not just a bad day at a theme park, it was a failure in operations and safety.
