点评:The flora is similar to what you'll see at the Huntington, just down the road and of a similar acreage. The Huntington has better landscaping, some specialty gardens, and, of course, all the art, but if you're just looking for a nice (and less crowded!) place to explore nature, this is a good option.
At a brisk walk, you can see most everything in 2 hours (+ time for parking, gift shop, etc.). I recommend allotting more time if your group requires a slower pace, you want to stop and smell the (literal) roses, or you want to explore every nook and cranny.
On-site are clean bathrooms, many water fountains, and the Peacock Cafe. The cafe has typical prices ($9 for a premade cold sandwich) and limited interior seating. Your ticket allows you to leave and re-enter, so you can also eat elsewhere if you prefer.
Most of the trails are paved, with only slight inclines. The Tallac Knoll area is quite elevated, and requires either walking up a long, sloping trail or climbing a tall set of stairs near the waterfall.
There are also several interesting historic buildings, though the depot and barn were the only ones open when I visited.
