点评:On my most recent visit, I finally was able to attend Sunday Mass at this historic and wonderful old church near Lafayette Square.
I chose the Latin morning service and felt like a wide eyed first communicant all over again; I'd made my first communion the year before Vatican II so knew all the prayers, if a bit rustily.
It was Gaudete Sunday (the 3rd Sunday of Advent) so everything was done up in the traditional rose pink hue.
The artwork and stained glass are beautiful, and the organ gives an impressive sound. Mass was well attended, from the very oldest to the newest parishioners.
Father welcomed me afterwards as I admitted was visiting from Los Angeles, and so did several parishioners, who wanted to know about the latest archdiocesan news from out West.
Amen!
