A challenging but breathtaking experience

点评：We hiked Mt. Kerinci as a 2D 1N trip and contacted Een Endatno (+62 852-6626-6992) to be our guide after reading so many good reviews on this page.
The trip includes 2 nights accomodation at Een's homestay in Kersik Tuo (1 before, 1 after), transport from and to the trek's start point, meals throughout the hole trek, a tent and sleeping bags for staying at the shelter and the entrance fees for the national park.
We went in october 2026 and the trails were pretty quiet, it almost felt like we had the mountain for ourselves. Even though it is a challenging hike, the view of the crater at the top at sunrise is breathtaking and definitely worth it. A good base fitness level is required.
Een did a wonderful job guiding us up this challenging mountain. We felt safe and taken care of throughout the whole trip. He was also happy to assist us with further tips for exploring the Kerinci area.
There's a public bus from and to Padang to Kersik Tuo which takes about 8h that we decided to take. Een was really helpful already in advance providing us information on whatsapp on which bus companies to take and what costs to expect. On request he can also arrange a private driver for this trip.
