Le Boat - Benson的点评
点评：We recently enjoyed a fantastic two night stay on one of Le Boat's three birth Mystique boats - one of what they classify as their Comfort range. For three couples the size was perfect, surprisingly good sized births, great kitchen and dining area and a wonderful space up top where we spent the vast majority of the weekend.
We decided to take is easy and have a leisurely round trip from Benson up to Abingdon and back. Mooring up alongside a field just past Days Lock to enjoy a cooked breakfast surrounded by a bucolic landscape.
Two things surprised me. Firstly, how quiet the engine was - sitting up top or on the bow was very peaceful. Secondly how quiet the river was. I am guessing it gets a lot busier in the summer but for us, we probably didn't pass more than 15 other boats during the whole weekend.
Abingdon was a real treat - beautiful old town with numerous pubs and cafes, an abbey and wisteria clad buildings from the 1700s everywhere.
Highlights:
* The boat - super comfortable and great facilities
* Abingdon - especially a pint on the banks of the river in the Nag's Head
* Dorchester - lovely 15 minute walk from Days Lock across ancient fields (a dyke and burial mounds) to an Abbey
* Le Boat staff - very friendly and informative
* Curtis the Lock-keeper at Clifton Lock - cheerful with ice-creams, plants and pottery to sell
* Guessing the value of the amazing houses on the banks of the Thames.
Summary
A wonderful way to spend a few days exploring the Thames. I would highly recommend (and am very likely to return).
