点评:The park opens at 5 a.m. We got there at 7:30 a.m. and were afraid we were late. Then we were afraid we were there so early there would be no one to take our picture, but alas there were others strolling along. We loved not having people in our photos, but the place is so large I'm sure it's fine to arrive at whatever time is convenient for you.
I was impressed by the Presidential Trail. I didn't realize there would be angles to see just one President at a time. There is also a sculptor's studio, it was just ok. But there was a U.S. Park Ranger to answer our questions, a small bookstore and a bathroom, so worth a stop, though it doesn't open until 8 a.m.
The Visitor Center is very informative, I enjoyed learning the history, who helped build it, the accidents, the salaries and the impressive record that no one died.
The Gift Shop is huge and you can buy all our souvenirs for the state here. Except scrapbook paper. I don't understand how Amazon has it and the actual place doesn't sell it!!
