Great museum in the capital city.
South Carolina State Museum的点评
点评：I promised my niece a trip to Columbia to see the Disney Villains costume collection for her 19th birthday.
The SC State Museum is a state of the art museum in Columbia. It offers up 4 floors of permanent and changing exhibits. It is ideally located along the banks of the Congree River. This was once part of an old shipping canal that dates to pre civil war times. It is the largest museum in the state. The are part of the Smithsonian and American Alliance of Museums. They have a digital dome planetarium. The building is the former Columbia Mills Building. It was added to the national registry in 1982. In 1988 it opened as a state museum.
Our main reason for our visit, was the Disney Heroes and Villains exhibit. This exhibit showed the costumes from the Disney movies and showcased talented costume designers such as my favorite,Collen Atwood. And I was here mainly for one thing, to see the Sanderson Sisters costumes. Im a huge Hocus Pocus fan and I couldn't believe I got to see these in person. I also wanted to see the pirate costume worn by my celebrity husband, Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean! The costumes were simply stunning. Afterwards we explored some more of the museum. I loved the nautical exhibit and you are never to old to be in awe of dinosaur bones.
The museum does offer plenty of free parking. They do offer a gift shop and café. They do offer events and workshops throughout the year. The Disney exhibit was just a temporary exhibit and tickets were more than general admission. The museum is well worth making a visit to and there is something for the whole family.

我们此行的主要目的是参观迪士尼英雄与反派服装展。该展览展出了迪士尼电影中的服装，并展示了包括我最喜欢的科琳·阿特伍德在内的众多才华横溢的服装设计师的作品。而我此行的主要目的只有一个：一睹桑德森姐妹的服装风采。我是《女巫也疯狂》（Hocus Pocus）的铁杆粉丝，简直不敢相信自己竟然能亲眼见到这些道具。我还特别想看看我那明星老公约翰尼·德普在《加勒比海盗》里穿的海盗服！那些服装真是太惊艳了。之后我们又逛了逛博物馆的其他展区。我特别喜欢航海主题的展览，而且无论多大年纪，你都会对恐龙化石感到惊叹。
博物馆提供充足的免费停车位。他们还设有礼品店和咖啡馆。全年都会举办各种活动和工作坊。迪士尼主题展只是个临时展览，门票比普通门票贵一些。总而言之，这家博物馆非常值得一去，而且适合全家老少一起参观。
