点评:The tour of TR’s “birthplace” is well worth your time if you have any interest in him or his times. Be well aware that the brownstone is a recreation from 1923 before you go to avoid any disappointments. The park ranger guide was very knowledgeable about the history of TR, the reconstructed structure, its contents- an amalgamation of original items from many branches of the Roosevelt family, and the development of the site. Where he really shined was in his historical and social insights into the use of the site to develop an understanding of TR and different concepts of civic integration. To top it off, our guide was a font of “Dad jokes” that were corny but good-spirited. The first floor display are is a must before the tour if you are not immersed in TR and Roosevelt family history.
