点评:Good trip. We arrived at approximately 11 am and made our way towards the entrance to buy our tickets. There was a short introductory documentary about the history of logging in the main building, along with a medium sized exhibit. There were multiple artifacts, along with informational plaques detailing the history of logging in the area, along with the significance of logging to Minnesota. There was an amazing visual presentation on the effect of fire and logging, that I highly recommend watching in their theatre room. There were several tour times scheduled throughout the day, in which an employee walked us to a logging camp, and performed a skit with several other workers there. We learned about what daily life was like for the loggers, along with how horses and various tools were used several decades ago, to assist with the logging efforts. We got to tour replica sleeping quarters, a dining room, a blacksmith shop, and a barn for the horses. After the skit/tour of the logging camp was done, we were free to explore the rest of the grounds by ourselves. We walked on several of the hiking trails on the grounds, including the river trail, and the swamp trail. The river trail was about a mile in length, and went through the forest, with views of the water about halfway through the trail. There were informational plaques scattered throughout the trail, detailing what we were seeing in front of us. The swamp trail was a short trail that went through several wet patches on the ground. The trail led to a longer paved trail, that we opted not to do because of time constraints. One of the attractions at the history center also included climbing a fire tower. The fire tower was only open during certain hours throughout the day, and sneakers must be worn in order to climb up the tower. There were ten sets of stairs leading to the top of the tower, and my thighs were sore when I finally made it to the top. The views at the top were beautiful and I could see the forest for miles on end. We also got to tour a fireman’s living quarters, that were located near the fire tower.
Tip: I recommend spending 5 hours here if you truly want to see everything.

提示:如果您真的想看遍一切,我建议您在这里花 5 个小时。
