Beautiful and Amazing Falls
黄石下瀑布的点评
点评：There are a few different places you can see the Lower Falls. We skipped the “brink of the falls” trail as we weren’t sure we’d do so well coming back up, being somewhat “older than we used to be”. It is a significant hike down to the top of the falls from the parking. That being said, we HAVE been down that trail, as well as the (now closed) Uncle Tom’s Trail—> a metal stairway to near the base of the falls—on a trip in the early 2000s. We went to Lookout Point, Grand View, Inspiration Point, and my favorite—Artist Point. Besides rim level view points, Lookout Point also has a nice trail, partly boardwalk & platforms, that goes quite a ways down into the canyon and affords a different perspective on the falls. (We didn’t take this trail on this trip, although we have in the past.) You can’t see the waterfall from Inspiration Point, but the views of the canyon are breathtaking. And Artist Point is where you get the iconic view captured by photographers and artists for many decades. This waterfall is 308 feet high. This is a beautiful waterfall, from any of the available views. The yellow surroundings of the canyons, the blue of the sky, and the green of the surrounding forests all provide a nice backdrop and contrast for your pictures of the falls. If you have the time and the physical capacity to do so, DO take the hikes down into the canyon!
