点评：MainStrasse is a cool little place and worth a visit, but the Oktoberfest was pretty disappointing compared to other festivals of its kind. No information on websites or the FB page (other than the hours), no maps to guide you (poster boards displayed there mentioned three stages, but no one - including the sponsors - seemed to know where they were, what which was called, or what was happening where or when), no calendar of events to help plan the visit (opening ceremony was actually on the second day; who knew?), the "events" were few and far between, and there's no designated parking (I was ticketed for parking where it appeared permissible). When I finally happened upon someone in charge, who was busy posing for photos, she suggested I look on Instagram or download a QR code for guidance. Some of us old folks don't do Instagram, so a paper map and schedule would've been helpful. Turned out there was no dancing (a big draw for me), few bands, mediocre food trucks, and tons of vendors selling "whatever." Additionally, traffic is a nightmare. If you live in the area or are staying in the hotel and can walk, what live music I heard is nice. Otherwise, stick to the larger venues and better organized and executed German festivals.
