点评:This cup noodles museum has three parts to it.
First, we have a small museum that introduce the founder and history of the humble cup noodles through an informative combination of interactive displays, exhibit pieces, and videos. Almost everything is in Japanese though.. so for English speakers, I’d recommend using their Audio Guide App (scan the QR Code by the hut or just google the museum pages) to understand everything better.
Second, the Cup Noodles Factory let us create our own unique cup noodles by drawing manually onto a Styrofoam cup. After that, we can choose our favourite condiments and see our creation get processed behind clear glass panels. A fun activity with a tasty souvenir at the end of it, the place is absolutely packed with people but this production line is optimized to max efficiency so the queue keeps moving at a good pace.
Finally, we have the Chicken Ramen Workshop on the second floor. This workshop is like the paid Pro version of the Cup Noodles Factory’s Lite. My girlfriend and me attended the Chicken Ramen workshop and was assigned to a small group led by Motoya-san. Although we were the only foreigners in the group, Motoya-san patiently explained the various noodle-making steps in English for us after instructing the rest of the group in Japanese.
From the processes that we were allowed to try such as dough kneading and noodle shaping, to those we can’t do such as noodle packaging by machine, this production line style of workshop is impressively efficient and well thought out. Even the cooking and packaging processes, where we could not hands-on, were performed behind a clear glass panel so we could still see our numbered masterpieces being made!
At the end of the workshop, we were not only rewarded with two packets of chicken ramen each, but also given some leftover crumbs to eat as samples of our ‘hard work’, which was a really nice touch. The staff were friendly and all smiles during our interactions, adding to the amazing experience.
All said, this workshop was very enjoyable and definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
