Morioka Castle Ruins的点评
点评：We took Dendenmushi Loop Bus A and alight before strolling to Morioka Castle. It is also known as Furaikata-jo Castle, and also the Kozukata Castle until 1874 when most of the buildings were demolished. Prior to this it was a prominent castle in Tohoku region as the residence of the local feudal lords beside serving its defensive purposes. Now it was officially recognized as a national historic site and one of Japan’s top 100 castles.
There is hardly any castle structures left, except the stone walls and a storehouse. The castle moat has beautiful weeping willows and other trees that create natural shade and offer great photographic shot. It is nestled into the Iwate Park (my other Review) and visitors come for us in their tour here.
We noted a red-painted bridge spans a moat that divides the two enclosures.
Not a flowery season yet in early-July so its mostly green. Easy to spend an hour here..
