点评:I visited Aizu Bukeyashiki, a Samurai mansion. It was built during the Edo period (17-19th cent.), destroyed in the Boshin War, and rebuilt in 1975. The Shikidai-Genkan is the manor's front door. All members of the family killed themselves after the owner Tanomo Saigo entered the Boshin War in August 1868. There is a scene which depicts a wounded girl, who cannot die, asking a soldier to kill her if he is an ally. Though the soldier is an enemy, he shows mercy and fulfills her wish.
Cha-No-Ma was the retainers' rest room and dining room. I love the jars in this room. Onari-No-Ma was used for entertaining visiting Daimyo feudal lords. Okuichi-No-Ma was the owner's sleeping quarters. In the scene in my photo, the mother is scolding her children for playing in their father's bedroom.
There is a lot to see and it is well worth a visit.
