点评:I've lived in LA a long time and finally went to the Channel Islands! Take the early morning ferry in the spring/summer because the day was a lot hotter than I expected and the trail I took had no shade. Wear sunscreen, cover up against the sun, and bring several water bottles. You can fill up the bottles at one of two spigots at the campsites a short walk from the dock. An Island Fox trotted right past me with no fear! I hiked to Potato Harbor. It's a nice place to sit & have lunch but note that there is no shade, benches, picnic tables, or porta potties. Closer to the ferry landing, there is the option to camp, or rent kayaks or scuba gear at a little hut. There is a Visitor's Center inside a building that is worth visiting to learn the history of the island. It was a great outing. The only negatives were two employees (one inside the ticketing office & one guy on the boat) who had a bit of an attitude when I asked a question. Also note that the company website states to park in Parking lot 4, but when you pull in there are no signs stating Parking Lot 4. Just park (and pay) near the Island Packers building.
