Christmas Town This Year Was a Let Down

点评：I've been for Christmas Town a few times in years' past, and in 2015 and 2017, for example, it was a wonderful experience. I had gone with my wife and my parents, and we all had a great experience. I live abroad now, and I traveled back home with my son for Thanksgiving (2025). My parents, sister, son, and I went do to Williamsburg from Maryland and did Christmas Town. It was NOT what it had been like previously.
Many of the lights were not on, the amout of lights seemed much less overall. There was a lack of spirit in the air from each country; it just felt like a half-ass holiday decoration of an amusement park instead of the immersive experience we had remembered. The shows were a joke. The peppermint hot chocolate was difficult to find, and when it was found, it was like a quarter of the ticket price. Then, we made the mistake of going for food near the end of the night. We waited in line for 20 minutes in the UK only to be told that half the things we wanted were sold out, then they messed up our order, which cost $125, and it was basically crappy chicken and crappy fries. We should have stopped at a window on the way back to the hotel instead.
I did really enjoy riding the new Big Bad Wolf ride, and I think that the park itself is probably still great during the regular season, but this year's Christmas Town was just disappointing almost the entire time. I really hope that they will do better in the future. Maybe we will try again if we hear good things (not from paid influencers).
