点评:We visited Piazza Sant’Antonino in Castelmola (our hotel provided shuttle service) while we were in Taormina in late April 2026 on the third leg of a five week visit to Sicily. Castelmola is a small town perched high above Taormina and dates back to Greco-Roman times. Its narrow and winding streets, quaint houses, churches, shops and restaurants and public spaces add to its charm, as do the ruins of a Norman Castle just above the town itself. Perhaps the centrepiece of the town is Piazza Sant’Antonino which provides spectacular panoramic views of Mt. Etna, Taormina and the seacoast; it is also home to Bar San Giorgio (reviewed separately).. Overall, our visit to Castelmola (and particularly Piazza Sant’Antonino) was a great way to spend a few hours far from the hustle and bustle of Taormina.
