An Authentic Amazon Expedition with Local Trekkers Peru

点评：We visited Peru in June and decided to explore the incredible 6 Day / 5 Night Manu Reserved Zone Tour with Local Trekkers Peru. From our very first email, everything was handled professionally and efficiently. Alberto, the Sales Manager, was always friendly, attentive, and quick to answer all of our questions. He customized the itinerary to match our interests and organized everything at a very reasonable price. Before the tour began, we also had a detailed briefing with our guide, who explained the entire itinerary and answered all of our questions, making us feel fully prepared and excited for the adventure ahead.
However, the person who truly made this journey unforgettable was our guide, Hendrik, who quickly became much more than just a guide he became a friend. From the very first day, he shared an incredible amount of knowledge about Peru, the Amazon rainforest, and the extraordinary biodiversity of the Manu Reserved Zone. His knowledge of wildlife was simply remarkable. Every time we encountered an animal, he explained its behavior, habitat, and fascinating biological facts with such enthusiasm and detail that it felt like listening to a National Geographic documentary.
During our 6 day expedition, we were fortunate enough to observe an incredible variety of wildlife, including the Andean Cock of the Rock (Peru's national bird), caimans, several species of monkeys, capybaras, giant river otters, and countless colorful birds. One of the most exciting parts of the trip was exploring the untouched rainforest and experiencing the Amazon's wildlife in its natural habitat. Hendrik explained that June is one of the best months to visit the Manu Reserved Zone because the river levels begin to drop, making wildlife easier to spot throughout the expedition. Every day brought new surprises and unforgettable encounters.
The accommodations also exceeded our expectations. We especially loved staying in different jungle lodges throughout the tour, allowing us to experience different parts of the rainforest. Every lodge was comfortable, clean, and surrounded by nature. Each location offered a unique atmosphere and brought us even closer to the incredible wildlife of Manu.
The food was another highlight of the trip. Lucio, our chef, amazed us every day with delicious, fresh, plentiful, and beautifully prepared breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Every meal was different, full of flavor, and served buffet-style. Fresh fruit was always available throughout the day, and every evening we enjoyed tea with cookies while sharing stories from the day's adventures. It was truly impressive to enjoy such high-quality meals in the middle of the Amazon rainforest.
