点评:The special exhibit was a bit odd (retelling the story of a Danish family whose boat was capsized by whales in 1972 and they survive for 38 days in a dinghy) but rest of the museum was just what I was looking for - an explanation of why so many Nordic people’s immigrated and why they chose various spots in the US and what they did once they got here. Apparently, population booms and lack of arable land in their home countries spurred immigration. Many settled in the Midwest since once the first groups went, subsequent ones followed to be with countrymen. They worked in logging, shipping/fishing and mining.
So, putting aside the odd capsized ship exhibition, the museum was worth going to; the café was great and the shop was very surprising (great variety of items for sale and that wonderful Scandi design). I didn’t buy anything but spent a lot of time appreciating.
