点评:My husband, 17 year old and I had a great time on July 4, 2026. We saw lots of native Pacific NW animals (the only 2 species that were promoted but off exhibit or unseen were the wolverine & moose.) We started with the free (included with admission) tram ride that took about 40-45 minutes. I was impressed that the driver narrated, drove, and looked for animals all at the same time. As newcomer to the Pacific Northwest, I did not know much about the animals or ecosystems here. The driver gave a great overview and was an engaging speaker. Although we did not do it, I would NOT recommend the car caravan because it seemed like they moved very slowly and your companion has to drive & look for animals. Also I believe that is an additional cost and does not seem worth it.
After the tram tour we walked around the “zoo” portion of the park. It was so cool to see grizzly and black bears, river otters, bald eagles, and many more mammals and birds in their natural habitats. Compared to my experiences with other zoos, this was amazing because the animals were nearly all active, even after 1 PM, presumably because they are in their natural habitat.
I can see how this experience would be less fun if it was crowded, but today since it’s a federal holiday in the U.S., it was not very crowded. It was quiet , peaceful, engaging , and we learned a lot.
