Miyako Blue" - crystal clear turquoise-to-azure nature-perfected ombré waters, because of the uplifted corals (reefs being carried above sea level over thousands of years) and lack of rivers. The beauty and lack of crowd here at the start of April (it wasn't Jap Golden Week yet till end of April) simply made it more enjoyable. Despite the clear waters, snorkeling's not advised here as the waves are too strong and the corals are not here so no marine life to observe here. They have jet ski and parasailing here in warmer months so it can't be safe snorkel too. Try Aragusuku Beach instead. If you do swim here, public showers are available. Do prepare sufficient 100yen coins for yourself and/or family as the shower system works only if you insert 100yen coins (100yen for 4-minute shower water if I remembered correctly).
So if you're still (or a new) fan of Pokémon Go, you'll be excited to find a Kyogre Poké Lid here on the beach, near the noticeboard of the beach's carpark.
To get the most panoramic gorgeous view of the 7km stretch of this glistening Yonaha (I think locals call it Maehama) Beach, you'll have to cross the 1600+m Kurima bridge to Kurima Island (or "Kurima-jima") and mount the Ryukyu Caste Observation Deck, where you get a gorgeous panoramic view of Yonaha Maehama Beach from the opposite!
