点评:This was the least pleasant tasting room experience in the Hill Country that we have had. The host was a vintner, who, from his appearance looked like he had just spent most of the day toiling in the fields. When we learned that he was doing the hands on work of growing grapes and making wine and that he had years of experience, we looked forward to a very educational tasting. Unfortunately, it was not. He never bothered to ask us anything about our experiences with wine, tastes or preferences, but just perseverated on lecturing us on how descriptions of tastes in wine were meaningless. The shallowness of this "tasting" was heightened by having had our first tasting in Fredericksburg at Grape Creek Vineyard tasting room, where the presentation was thoughtful, very informative, and attentive to our interests and tastes. The contrast in wines was also dramatic - the wines of Grape Creek were sophisticated, conveyed qualities of the varietals, and well worth planning a meal around. The Fredericksburg wines were just blah - and far more expensive than everyday wines you can buy at the grocery store.
