点评:When we visited on 21 October, the foliage has not turned autumn colors yet. We only saw pretty autumn colors at Keyakidaira station which is 600 m above sea levels. At Keyakidaira, the colors are pretty at Babadani Onsen.
The Kurobe Gorge is a beautiful, forested ravine in the rugged mountains of the Northern Japan Alps. It is one of the deepest gorges in Japan with the Kurobe River flowing through the bottom. Our Kurobe train rode over many colourful bridges and through many tunnels offering panoramic views of the gorge below. Some sights include the Unazuki Dam, the Shin-Yanagawara Power Plant which resembles an ancient European castle and the blackish Aqueduct Bridge. The blue Atobiki Bridge spans the steepest and deepest valley along the rail line. There are also some pretty waterfalls and the "Monkey Suspension Bridge" for the Japanese Macaques to cross to the other side of the river.
