点评：In Portsmouth one afternoon, I drove by Goodwin Park to see if the star magnolia trees were in bloom yet. They were off to a good start with about half the buds fully open so I parked the car and went for a walk in the park.
It was surprising because the weather had been very cold all winter and very cool for April except for a couple days the week before. However, with the trees getting full sun for most of the day, blooming close to schedule in April was happening.
These trees coming into bloom are always a wonderful sight as they are a sure sign that spring is here. They were ahead of all the other trees with green leaves.
While visiting the park, I saw a young man sitting on a bench in the park. He was singing an unfamiliar song to himself. It may have been his own composition. It had a nice melody. He had a pretty good voice.
I enjoyed walking around the park among the star magnolias. I rate this visit at 4.75 and can recommend a visit anytime during the better weather.
