点评:While in Amsterdam last weekend, I visited the Huis Bartolotti on Friday, February 5.
The museum is off the beaten path.
I have enjoyed very much this visit. You have to book in advance. The museum only admits 20 people at a time, which gives you plenty of time to explore the place without being rushed and allows you to take photos without a crowd. An audio guide is provided, and the explanations are very detailed. Visitors are also invited to touch the works and open the drawers, which is a wonderful opportunity to discover the works in greater depth.
On the lower floor, there is a cellar and a large kitchen where coffee or tea is served with treats. The kitchen opens onto the garden.
This canal house was built in the early 17th century for the Flemish art dealer Willem Bartolotti van den Heuvel. The museum is a remarkable example of Dutch architecture of the period.
I recommend this tour to all lovers of architecture and the Dutch Golden Age.
