On the face of it, you drive down the steep, rugged slopes where the olive trees are and learn about the history and process of making olive oil and conclude with a spread of food, with olive oil involved in each dish. In reality this was so much more - it was a genuine “experience”. Our host, Antonio, was not just informative, but a wonderful and humorous raconteur, passionate about the land, his olives and his region. His positivity is infectious, the landscape overwhelmingly beautiful, and the food (prepared by his equally talented wife and served, as if we were family, in his outside sun room) wonderful. I would pay just to enjoy Antonio’s company, and the scenery, the knowledge shared and the food were bonuses.
