点评：Taka Makassar was hands down our favorite stop during our Komodo island hopping excursion. While seeing the legendary dragons on Komodo Island was the main bucket list goal, this tiny crescent of land sitting right out in the middle of the open sea quietly stole the show. It literally rises and sinks with the ocean tides.
The water surrounding it is extraordinarily crystal clear, making it easy to spot fish, marine life, and coral right from the surface. Because the water near the island is very shallow, it essentially functions like a giant, supercharged natural tide pool. It is remarkably vibrant and lively; kids will have an absolute blast exploring the water like a giant touch pool. During our visit, we even encountered a large live starfish and spotted a small reef shark swimming nearby.
Because of its fame, it can get crowded when multiple tour boats arrive at once, so you should temper your expectations and not expect a totally secluded, quiet paradise. Even so, when we were there, there was still plenty of space to walk around, enjoy the views, and snap amazing photos without strangers cluttering the background. Naturally since this place is very compact you probably only need to spend an hour or so, plus it is also limited by the rising tides.
Pro Tip: Just like on Pink Beach, do not attempt to collect sand, dead corals, or shells as souvenirs. Taking natural items off the islands is strictly prohibited, and security at the Labuan Bajo airport actively inspects luggage for this upon departure.
