First of all the folks who work there are as nice and pleasant as any you will ever meet. They are exceptionally proud of their "museum" and with good reason.
Downstairs is a large welcoming vestibule as well as space devoted to local artists on a rotating basis. Upstairs is where the actual fun begins as there is a theater devoted to those in the Mississippi "Hall of Fame" w/ videos of their contributions. From there you walk from exhibit to exhibit devoted to music, film, literature, media, &c. and those from Mississippi who influenced those categories. I found it fascinating and was amazed at the number in each category--some of whom I had no idea were from Mississippi.
Plan to spend a few hours (I arrived just before opening at 9.00 and was there until well after noon) enjoying the place.
