点评：This is the other piazza in the centre of Cortona, perhaps the lesser-known sibling of its neighbour, Piazza della Repubblica that is literally around the corner. Piazza Luca Signorelli is named after the painter, whose patronage pretty much led to the rise of Cortona in the Renaissance. The square is bordered by the imposing theatre and the MAEC museum of Etruscan history, so has fewer restaurants and cafes than Piazza della Repubblica, although the ones it has are great, including La Vineria (reviewed separately on here).
People tend to walk across the square rather than to it, so it is an ideal place to take an outside table, order some local wines by the glass and just watch Cortona go about its daily life.
It is also where the fountain was located in the movie Under The Tuscan Sun, although sadly that was a prop constructed solely for the film.
