点评:This was an extra pleasant surprise! The museum is free to visit and the exhibits are on the second floor, but it was an extensive museum for the price of entry (which was nothing). The museum takes you through the history of Tennessee from the beginning of time (the soil, rivers, and landscape) to the prehistoric era (complete with fossil examples) to the Native American tribes from the area, to the Civil War to the World Wars and the 20th Century.
Each era in time seemed to have a short video you could stop and watch (there were places to sit that I thought were comfortable). There were many artifacts and pieces of history on display. There were a couple of interactive activities like "What can you fit/what is absolutely necessary to bring in a covered wagon?". It was a great time and really informative. My mom and I went to the museum and we spend probably spent about 2 hours there. We could have spent way more time there, but we were there on a Friday and there were a lot of school-age children there (we had seen school buses outside when we had walked up to the building) and my mom had gotten wore out after about an hour and a half, so we headed out.
