点评:Atop a hill near the city centre is a house whose owner turned its front half into The Dunedin Museum of Natural Mystery. There are several rooms, each packed with unusual items and artworks by the proprietor. In one of the rooms, the masks above the fireplace are from the Sepik River in Papua New Guinea. The fire grill is from the Seacliff Lunatic Asylum. It was used to stop patients from burning themselves.
Among the unusual creatures displayed in this museum is a sea spider. The museum owner creates art from bones and skulls. The bone guitar on display was made in 2015 and contains 35 skulls. Another artwork was titled "Coral Bust (In Memory of the Great Barrier Reef)" and was made in 2014.
This museum is certainly different. (It was inspired by a similar museum in London which I visited last year.)
