点评:Wifey did some homework and noted there is a foc Observatory.
We rushed here after returning from Masushima, even before taking dinner, as it closes at 8pm.
Aer is a skyscraper in Sendai and rises some 31 stories to a height and was the tallest building in the Tōhoku region until 2010. It houses a shopping complex with various stores and restaurants. Not too difficult to manoeuvre and we gotten to the correct lift, together with another 2 locals waiting.
It took less than a min to reach the top, and there’s 2 sides of viewing gallery. A fitness centre in-between, cool!
The observatory offers a great view of the Sendai area, even visible landmarks like the airport, port, and station. Views include Sendai's downtown districts, the Hirose River, residential and commercial zones, and mountain ranges including the Zao Mountains. From here we can see the JR tracks for Tohoku Shinkansen and more, what magnificent that speaks of the success of Japanese Rail system!
No very packed at about 6:30pm in early July and we love the convenience that it is situated just beside the JR station.
