点评:On arrival at Ibusuki Station, we arranged with a friendly, jovial and kind taxi driver for 2 hours hire to see Capa Nagasakibana and then back to Saraku Sand Bath Hall. Along the way, he pointed out the majestic Mt Kaimon and we saw lots of sago palm trees. The vibe of this place is laid back and peaceful. On arrival at the Cape, he led us to three popular photo spots: one with the view of Ryugu Shrine. Ryugu Shrine (Ryugu Jinja) is a shrine dedicated to Princess Toyotama (Otohime-sama). It is cherished as the god of matchmaking, where the guardian deity of the sea, Urashima Taro, and Otohime met. Unlike the usual ema (votive tablet), this shrine has egai (votive shells), which people dedicate by writing their wishes on the shells. Visitors can also enjoy the unique sight of a jar full of votive shells.
Second spot is in front of the vermilion Torii gate and the third spot is with view of Mt. Kaimon. We took the short easy walk to the lighthouse at Cape Nagasakibana, the southernmost point of the Satsuma Peninsula. It is pleasant to take a walk while looking at the blue sea and Mt. Kaimon. Mt Kaimon is also called the Satsuma Fuji because it resembles Mt Fuji. The heart-shaped monument along the way gives it the feel of a matchmaking spot. There is also a statue of Urashima Taro here.
I would strongly recommend a visit here when visiting Ibusuki as the legend is interesting and the view of Mt Kaimon, the blue sea, the black sand beach and rocks are gorgeous.
