点评:We booked a tour through the cruise ship. The tour was called 'Kochi sightseeing tour' which covered Kochi Castle, Katsurahama beach, Chikurin-ji Temple, Tosa Terrace with statue of Samurai Sakamoto Ryoma and Hirome-ichiba market.
Our tour guide was Tomo from Tobu Tours Co Ltd. Tomo spoke very good English. She was professional, humble, happy, patient and knowledgeable.
Katsurahama beach was nice and well maintained with a nice walkway. There was a shrine on one end of the beach which was about 15 to 20 minutes’ walk one way. We did not have time to do the walk due to limited time at this location.
There was a statue of Samurai Sakamoto Ryoma along with information of his achievements.
Chikurin-ji Temple is a five-storey bright red pagoda.
Kochi Castle was spectacular. There were quite a number of steps, I believe from memory there are about 150 outdoor steps to get to the castle. Within the castle, there are about 50 steps that are quite steep.
Hirome-ichiba market is a traditional market with a food section. There are many small restaurants all squished next to each other. When you sit at any of the dining tables, you are not allowed to drink anything that was purchased outside the market. They have security that walk around and enforce this rule.
