Private Drive to Hobbiton and the Shire!
霍比屯电影外景地游览的点评
点评：We chose the private experience which meant that we had a private driver (Mary) from our ship in Auckland to Hobbiton (about a 2-hr drive). Mary was great - very personable, very knowledgeable about New Zealand in general and all of the areas we passed through on our way. We stopped midway for a restroom break and purchased some breakfast items from a bakery. Once we arrived at Hobbiton, Mary went in and got our tickets for the tour and the lunch and got us to the starting point. When the tour was done, she was there waiting for us. When traffic got really, really heavy on the way back, her knowledge of the roads got us off the GPS highway and back to our ship with far less delay than the highway would have provided.
Hobbiton itself - truly spectacular. Let me start by saying that neither my wife nor I are big Hobbit fans. We’ve seen the trilogy and read the Hobbit - but that’s it. We booked the tour because everyone we knew said we shouldn’t miss it. We were very glad we listened.
The level of detail that is in every aspect of the Shire is truly amazing and really blew us away. Actual produce producing gardens, wood burning fires in the Hobbit houses - the details were just mind blowing. The guide at Hobbiton (I think that was his name - he was tall and red-headed) was truly great - personable, very knowledgeable and willing to take as many pictures as folks wanted. The lunch was fairly good - not great but for the number they serve, it was fine.
This entire tour exceeded our expectations from beginning to end!
