Amazing Guide Lal made this whole trip pleasant

点评：I had a wonderful experience traveling in Sri Lanka, and a big part of that was thanks to my chauffeur guide Lal. He was very nice, professional, punctual, and reliable throughout the entire trip. His driving was excellent and safe, and he was always patient and attentive. He was great at managing time and always made sure I could see all the spots without feeling rushed. He knew exactly where to go, the best routes to take, and how to plan each day efficiently. He also recommended very good restaurants and even knew the best places to buy high-quality cinnamon. Along the way, he would stop whenever needed to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
He went above and beyond in small but meaningful ways—helping me open a fresh coconut, patiently answering even my smallest questions, and explaining everything clearly. His knowledge and care really made my experience in Sri Lanka very enjoyable and memorable. I do think everyone if you come to this trip please consult about Lal.
Regarding the services I booked, I do feel the overall price was a little high compared to what I asked around locally ($630 for whale watching + Yala park jeep + one night stay + transportation Colombo - Negombo - airport) However, this has nothing to do with the guide himself—he was excellent.
As for Yala National Park, I would recommend avoiding peak season (definitely not Christmas) if possible, as there are too many jeeps entering together, not the best way to observe wildlife.
Overall, I highly recommend Lal as the chauffeur guide.
