点评:This is a lovely park, filled with varieties of rhododendron bushes and trees, and other plants, a couple darling bridges, walking paths at different levels, water features that attracts birds, numerous benches. May is a great time of year as many of the rhodies are in bloom. It's evident that a lot of care went into the planning of the garden, to make ultimate use of the space. There is a scavenger hunt for the kids; we saw several with pencil and paper in hand, looking for the flora and fauna on their list.
A couple things to be aware of: the parking lot is tiny and fills up fast. You may wish to plan your visit so you arrive right at opening time (10 a.m.) Otherwise, plan on a short walk if you park your car in one of the adjacent neighborhoods. (People aren't supposed to park at Reed College, there is a sign to that effect on the premises, but they obviously do it anyway.)
Also, there are no concessions/refreshments at the park, so bring your own picnic and water. (This seems to me a missed opportunity; there were enough people at the park the day we were there, to support such a venture.) This would be a great place to bring a picnic lunch, a blanket and book, camera, artists' tools.
