Amazing Trip on the Hjalmar Bjorge

点评：Back in Northumberland a long way from The Orkneys and Fair Isle and reflecting on another wonderful trip on Hjalmar Bjorge. Tony, Steve and Sandra were so kind and helpful and Tony got us to Fair Isle and back safely. Steve’s food was delicious (no change there)and it will take a while to forget that HB Stack. Sandra looked after us admirably with great humour. Ellie came to our rescue with Chris still in quarantine and was extremely capable and just lovely. We started in Ullapool and took 2 days to get to Stromness on mainland Orkney, we enjoyed a Rupert cruise around the Orkneys and the highlight was travelling to and landing on Fair Isle and its spellbinding seabird colonies. We even completed a full circumnavigation of the island to view the immense cliffs which were full of life. The Orkneys was a wonderful blend of wildlife, scenery and history and we enjoyed a lovely day on mainland visiting bird reserves, Skara Brae and stone circles. A wonderful way to see the islands on a comfortable ship with amazing staff and food. We are already booked on a trip to St Kilda with Hebridean Adventure next year.
