点评：東京周辺のあじさいの名所の一つ。文化財の建物はありませんが、敷地全体を最大限に回遊するようなつくりの庭は魅力的。最近は、あじさいも大きく育っており、特に、受付から右手の石畳を進んだあたりは、路地や建築とあじさいの取り合いが美しいです。花菖蒲田もありますが、花菖蒲の花期が早いことが多いので、あじさい＋花菖蒲の同時満開を見るタイミングが難しい。
鎌倉のあじさいの名所ほどは混みません。
Hondo-ji Temple is one of the famous hydrangea spots around Tokyo. It has no cultural property buildings, but the landscape design is attractive since it is planned so as to utilize the site at maximum. Recently, the hydrangeas have grown large, and the area around the right hand of the reception is particularly beautiful, with the hydrangeas in harmony with the alleys and buildings. The temple also has iris fields, but the irises often flower early, so it is difficult to time the visit to see the hydrangeas and irises in full bloom at the same time.
It is not so crowded compared with the famous hydrangea spots in Kamakura.
