Woodlawn Cemetery的点评
点评：I have been visiting Woodlawn Cemetery since the 1970s because many of my ancestors are buried in our family plot. The plot goes back to the early 1800s but my family members (great grandparents, great aunts and uncles, grandparents, aunts, uncles, several cousins, and my mother) were interred here from the 1960s to the present. I began coming here after my grandfather died in 1975, and would often bring a rake to clean up debris as needed. I have washed family headstones on occasion, and planted grass seed to fill in bare spots under a centuries old tree. Unfortunately, care of the plots by Woodlawn is minimal so I make the effort when needed. I don't live close by, but try to get there once a year or so. Aside from my own family plot, the huge mausoleums are incredible to see and the many famous people buried in this beautiful cemetery are legendary. Stop at the office and get a map with details of the names of locations of the many famous "residents". One added note of interest was that in 1932 the Lindbergh baby's kidnapper made arrangements to pick up the ransom money in a box left at a designated location In Woodlawn Cemetery.
