Excellent national park fort with great ranger talks.

点评：On a brutally hot and humid Florida summer day we had probably one of the best visits ever to the National Park Fort Castillo de San Marcos in St Augustine.
What made the visit extraordinary was a historical standing room only talk given by a historian named Jim.
He mesmerized the room and people were glued to their seats as he went through over 600 years of Spanish history. We learned about Philip the Handsome, his wife Joanna the mad who sat next to her husband’s dead body for 20 years and believed him to be “sleeping.” Fast forward to present day King Phillip the 6th of Spain and his daughter Leonor due to inherit the throne as the first female royal in Spanish history.
Where was Jim in high school when we needed an excellent history teacher? We all would have become historians based upon his enthusiasm for the subject. We were so fortunate to see such a talented speaker with such enthusiasm for his subject.
