A wonderful short travel with Sydney!

点评：We were a family of four travelling with Sydney Perera for three days. We contacted Sydney after hearing about cyclone Ditwah and learning that our prebooked trains no longer were available. Despite short of time and an inconvenient route right during Christmas, Sydney did not hesitate to provide us his service. He is very accomodating and tailored our drive just as we wished for it. We drove Colombo to Kandy during the first day and had a few stops for roadside views, a tea factory and the Royal Botanical garden all after our wishes and his local tips. The second day we had originally planned for our own city walk and time with the family in Kandy and this was no problem for Sydney who instead "got the day off". He did however share his best tips for the city and activities. The third day we met up again embarking on a day long drive from Kandy to Ella. We had wished for views, perhaps a waterfall trek and to see tea plantations, as well as a lunch stop in Nuwara Eliya and all this was easily accommodated by Sydney. Thanks to his local knowledge we didn't pay entree fees anywhere but rather purchased drinks as support for the locals and similar. Apart from safe and very smooth driving, Sydney provides with interesting local knowledge, great tips and all in all wonderful conversations in the car. He is very good at reading the room, both leaving space for quietness and private time and inviting social discussions and sharing stories. We couldn't be happier with this last-minute-solution that turned out to be such a great experience - perhaps even better than the original solotravel plans! If we would have known about Sydney and his tours earlier we might have booked a longer route with him, and if we come back to Sri Lanka again we definitely know who to contact from the start!
