点评：We had a truly wonderful experience at Khao Sok Elephant Sanctuary. Finding an ethical sanctuary was really important to us, and this place exceeded our expectations. The elephants were free to roam, there was no forced bathing, and they were fed natural food in a large, open environment. The group size was small, which made the experience feel calm and personal.
Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of our questions. We learnt so much about the elephants, their behaviour, and their individual stories. Hearing about the elephants who had been passed to the sanctuary over the years — and the respectful burials they were given — was especially moving and genuinely beautiful to hear.
We were initially hesitant because we saw some conflicting reviews about elephant bathing, but it’s important to note that there are two similarly named places: Khao Sok Elephant Sanctuary and Khao Sok Elephant Conservation. This review is for Khao Sok Elephant Sanctuary, which does not force elephants to bathe. The conservation however, does.
Overall, the experience was absolutely fantastic and truly magical. Highly recommended.
