点评:We had gone on a private trip with this company a few years ago so chose them this year. Unfortunately, we had a very unsafe experience. They do not use good judgement and put my family in danger.
When picking us up on the beach, they asked us to hang off the end of the Ritz Carlton dock (since it is way above water at this time) and jump into the boat (a 3-4 foot drop). Big roller waves were coming in so we had to time it just right. After 3 of us were in the boat, a wave rammed the boat into the pylon under the dock, causing significant damage to the boat and the three of us being thrown to the bottom of the boat. We were very lucky that we did not get hit by the dock above our heads.
The captain was on his phone and tried to convince my husband to get on the boat the same way. We said no and he offered to swim out, but the captain said no. At that point, we had them take the three of us to a safer dock to get off and the trip was cancelled. We managed to get us off safely at the Club Med dock.
When I texted the owner for my refund, he didn’t even apologize, just said ‘our bad, we should’ve had you picked up at the marina’. We were all quite shaken- this could have been very bad and we are just glad nobody was injured. I’m not being dramatic- I’m an experienced boater and frankly never should have agreed to enter the boat in that way. The boater safety and lack of judgment on the captain was beyond poor.
Even if this hadn’t occurred, we still had a rough start. It started with a rate increase the day before (despite email communications and confirmation months before) and then the boat arriving 40 minutes late for our private trip. All in all, very unprofessional and unfortunately, not safe either.
