点评:We did the Dark Skies Canoeing on Coniston in October 2025. Al and Heather were excellent leaders. They took the time before we started to get to know everyone in the group then carefully tailored the experience to ensure everyone had a great time regardless of prior experience. We canoeed up Coniston shortly after sun set on a chilly Autumnal evening. After battling a slight wind we alighted on a hidden cove on the island made famous from Swallows and Amazons ( although for me, I felt very much like I was in The Famous Five on their first adventure to Treasure Island). Like giant kids we all set off to explore the island equipped with head torches but without all the ridiculous health and safety restrictions that usually hamper us in the modern world. We returned back to the canoes to be greeted by hot chocolate and marshmallows complete with freshly collected sticks to toast them on! We were blessed with a clear sky and had the chance to benefit from Al's knowledge of the stars ( our personal highlight was learning about the star which we shall forever refer to as Bootes' groin! 🤣 ) We started our paddle back in the pitch black and has an amazing ethereal experience when we all linked canoes in the middle of the lake, turned off our torches and glowsticks and just gazed up at the stars in awe.
A truly amazing evening and one I would definitely recommend whether you have loads or zero experience canoeing before.

这是一个真正令人惊叹的夜晚,无论你之前有很多独木舟经验还是零经验,我都强烈推荐你来体验。
