Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology的点评
点评:The Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology has some interesting exhibitions and some insight on how Harvard taught American ethnology to its students for many years. A number of the galleries are being reorganized, so there's not as much to see as this Museum once held. There were a couple of interesting special exhibits:
• an exhibition on dining & cooking was focused on a Harvard formal dinner for freshmen (no women students back then) in 1910. An interesting view into both the social structure + food choices back then.
• a collection of artifacts from the 1893 Chicago Exposition of Industry shows how the USA presented itself to the world back then.
This Museum is located in the same building as Harvard's Natural History Museum, so it may be worth a stop if you have a couple of hours after you visit that.
