Wilmington toy museum的点评
点评：I was driving my hired campervan through Wilmington, making for Port Augustus, when I noticed the collection of vehicles outside the Wilmington Toy Museum. I'd already driven past but had to turn around and go back for a closer look. I rang the bell, David appeared, opened the door and let me enter. I'm so glad I went back. David's entire collection is like a time capsule, a look back in toy history over many decades.
I couldn't get over display after display in room after room of toy and models from past eras, far too many to list but, believe me, they're all there. I was sure that there were a few that I remembered from my past that he hadn't got, but I was wrong, everything that I questioned was there! I've visited many toy and model museums in the UK where I live, but nothing to match David's collection. I spent a long time chatting to David about certain items that I thought were impossible either to see or acquire and he was such an interesting person to talk to. Besides his acquired model collection there were many models that he's constructed from kits as well as scratchbuilt models of various vehicles. This is one of the highlights of my drive. Thank you David.
