Damajagua Waterfalls的点评
点评：We were on a Celebrity Cruise and did an excursion from Puerto Plata.
Magnificent place to visit. Very busy and they are clearly used to excursions arriving since as soon as we got their the guides were on the coach giving us instructions. I had read a little about what to expect but assumed we hiked into the park and then got chaged. But no, you change at the bottom of the hike and hire a locker so be prepared to do that quickly.
Then you are given a helmet and lifejacket and off you go, in your sea shoes if you have dressed appropriately. You can just about manage the walk in sea shoes but it can be strenuous straight uphill in blazing heat. The guides are brilliant though and keep you entertained.
The actual descent through the river is exhiliarating though. However be aware at the last jump which is the highest, because you are wearing a helmet you can hit the bottom despite what the guides say. You also end up underwater at every slide because the helmet drags you down so you need to be confident in the water. I caught an infection after the trip but that was nobody's fault, I loved this excursion.
Going back down is easier because there is a lot of walking through water - those sea shoes are a must.
There is no picture taking in the park but a photographer accompanies you and takes pictures. You can then purchase the USB stick when you get down again, and that is well worth doing as the pictures are good and a memory of a great morning.
