Spion Kop Lookout的点评
点评：Well worth a visit as the lookout offers great 360 degree views of Queenstown taking in the train station, town centre, famous gravel football oval and the broader landscape including the famous 'moonscape' that was part of the mining industry in the early days of Queenstown.
The climb although not that long distance wise is pretty steep and as there are only 3 parking spaces at the foot of the track you may well find yourself walking from street level all the way to the top including the main road up. The parking spaces are literally for cars no med/large campers or towed caravans would be suitable.
The main path up is a solid gravelly concrete so good grip but in the wet potentially a bit slippy especially on the walk down, there is a handrail all the way up which is very useful. The final part of the path to the very top does have some metal inserts/steps for extra grip.
I last went up Spion Kopf well over 10 years ago and I think there have been improvements with some nice new bright information signs to read.
